Registration for the 2010 DH Swim Team is Underway!
Follow these three easy steps to register your swimmer for the team by June 1:
1. Download and print the following four (4) forms from the swim team web page (see Word documents on the left side of page): 1) Registration Form, 2) Medical Release, 3) Volunteer Form, and 4) Standards of Conduct Form.
2. Fill out each form in full. Please print clearly!
3. Return all four forms (with your check made out to "DH Boosters") to: Patty Hughes, 1001 N. Powhatan St., Arlington, VA 22205

Join the Dominion Hills Warriors Swim Team
The Dominion Hills Swim Team offers boys and girls/men and women between the ages of 6 and 18 the opportunity to swim competitively against swimmers from other Northern Virginia pools in the Northern Virginia Swim League (NVSL), one of the oldest and largest youth sports leagues in the country. There are lots of good reasons to join the team.
Swimmers love the swim team because they get to make lots of new friends, participate in pep rallies, improve their strokes, improve their times, cheer on their team mates, travel all over Northern Virginia checking out other team's pools, wear cool swim suits, get up early in the morning to practice (ok, maybe they don't love that part!), eat donuts and pancakes, take home an award at the end of the season, and really enjoy being part of a team.
Swim parents love the swim team because they get to know and party with other pool members, share in their child's success, get up at the crack of dawn to drink Starbucks by the pool during practice, enjoy sitting in the hot sun cheering on the team at meets (or alternately sitting behind the concession stand cheering on the burgers and hot dogs), travel to parts of Northern Virginia they never knew existed, and really enjoy the team experience.

DH Swim Team Parents Organizational Meeting 2010
The Swim Team Parents Organizational Meeting will be held Saturday May 15 at 3:00 p.m., in the DHARA Community House. Parents of current and potential swim team members are all welcome and encouraged to attend!
Dominion Hills Swim Team 2010 Practice Schedule
Tuesday, June 1 - Thursday, June 24
Weekday practices
10 and Under
4:00 - 5:00 PM Monday through Friday @ Yorktown
11 and Up
7:00 - 8:00 PM Monday through Thursday @ Dominion Hills
Saturday Practices –June 5 and June 12
7:00 - 8:00 AM All ages
8:00 - 8:45 AM 10 and under
8:45 - 10:00 AM 11 and up
While every effort should be made to make it to as many practices as you can, the coaches understand that there are a lot of conflicts at this time of year, at least until school lets out for the summer. However, the swim season is short, so it is important that everyone be in the water as much as possible. If it is too cold or rainy for the outdoor practices, bring sneakers, towels and comfortable clothes so you can participate in dry land training (e.g., stretching, calisthenics, and running).
Once Arlington County elementary schools are out for the summer (June 25), all practices move to the following morning schedule (Monday-Friday)
7:00 - 8:00 AM All ages
8:00 - 8:45 AM 10 and under (and Mini Warriors)
8:45 - 10:00 AM 11 and up
While every effort should be made by swimmers to attend the age-appropriate practice, if your child has a conflict with either the 8:00 AM or 9:00 AM practice because of camp or work schedules, please attend the 7:00 AM practice. The only exception is mini warriors who must attend the regularly scheduled practice.
