Music, updated pool games and another pool

I believe I had heard there would be music at the pool this summer, but don’t see any news about it. I think it would be great to have music playing in the background (would probably need to be a mix) with strategically placed speakers.

The game room at the pool is quite a mess. It would be great to get updated ping pong tables in this space and get rid of the other stuff that overall looked broken (perhaps the foosball was ok, not sure). Maybe the paddles/balls are kept at the checkin desk (sign in / out) and get returned as soon as you stop playing to help keeps materials looking nice.

I believe there was a survey about another pool being built (so we could use the pool even during swim meets) but don’t recall seeing the results. I’m wondering if this was a strong yes and what the time frame might be?

Pool passes

I am the only person in my family who even somewhat regularly uses the pool, And even I don’t use it that often. So it’s becoming hard to justify the cost for our family. A friend told me that Overlee has a program where if you have been a member for a certain number of years you can pay a lower annual fee but only use the pool a certain number of times, and maybe you pay something for each time you use the pool. I think that sounds wonderful. Or maybe have a special price for smaller households or seniors? Or lap swimming only? I hope that is something that you will consider! Thanks so much

Magazine and paperback book exchange

Just a thought that a corner of the covered deck might be used as a place for members to bring in magazines and/or paperbacks that they no longer want/need. "Take one/Leave one" could be the signage for the summer. Cheers, Marie Tibor

Open the pool earlier

Open the main pool earlier so that kids on swim team can stay and swim instead of waiting for the pool to open at 10, and other members can swim earlier as well. This might help some of the afternoon congestion too. Thanks for considering!

Improve parking lot

I think our parking lot has been relined several times and it is often difficult to determine where the car should actually go. Just a nice refresh would be helpful, especially in the early morning or evening.

PS on another note, thank you for doing this. The parking lot has been on my mind every season and I never quite know who to share that with since it’s not “urgent” but probably involves a significant amount of money. This is a perfect outlet.

Tennis Courts

We would love to have tennis courts and a tennis team for the kids!

Music!

It would be great to have music playing! Maybe mix up the type of music to appeal to all, everything from Oldies to classic rock, to 80s, 90s, etc. maybe people can submit their favorite Spotify lists! We have been to different pools with friends and it is always more fun with music.

Volleyball net

Please add a volleyball net (either in the rec area or even in the tank - removable in both cases) that can be used for rec swim. Water volleyball is an amazing team sport that will get many DH members playing together and create a sense of comraderie. thanks for considering!
